Namitha surprised to have a temple dedicated to her.

She may be just two films old in Sandalwood, but actress Namitha is going great in Kollywood. She’s even going to have a temple dedicated to her.

“I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that they’ve built a temple in my honour. In fact, everytime I went back home to Surat, I used to tell my family members in jest that soon there would be a temple in my name. And now it has actually come true. It took me some time to get used to the thought of a temple in my name, but now I am thrilled. After all, after Khushboo ma’am, I’m the only person to have a temple named after me,” says Namitha.

And now that she has a temple to her name, will she work extra hard on her off-screen image and the way she conducts herself? “Well, I have to be very careful when I am out in public. I guess the glam image will be only on screen,” explains Namitha.

Namitha’s Jaganmohini to be "Trendsetter"

Sexy Namitha is doing the remake of Jaganmohini, a trendsetter in 70s. She is cast in the title role that was originally played by Jayamalini. Jaganmohini was a folk thriller that made Jayamalini a big star overnight. It was directed by Vitalacharya.

Now the remake is made in Tamil and Telugu by Vishwanathan and the Telugu version is to be launched on July 21st. Raja is the hero. Meera Chopra is another heroine. H Murali is producing it both in Tamil and Telugu.

Namitha is back in news, of course for the right reasons. The grapevine has it that Namy baby is appearing in yet another Tamil film.

The horror film, titled ‘Jaganmohini’, is based on a film with the same title released a few decades ago.

The film is directed by N K Viswanathan, who has also worked as a cinematographer apart from directing films.
